OREOS® 1.0 features
OREOS® is a stand-alone software application. Its system requirements are:
Operating system: Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 et Windows 8*
Disk space: 2.4 MB
* only .NET framework, included by default in the above-mentioned operating systems, is
required for the software to run
OREOS® includes the following features:
a fully open database of physical and chemical properties (molecular weight, liquid density,
water solubility, vapor pressure, organic carbon distribution coefficient, Henry coefficient)
for more than 130 compounds (mono aromatic hydrocarbons, TPH, chlorinated solvents, PAHs, MTBE,
…) including temperature dependency
a user-friendly interface with charts, graphics, and statistical data analysis for an easy
interpretation of the results
a samples characterisation module, easy-to-use, that enables the simultaneous computation of
numerous contaminated soil samples and results in the contaminant distribution in each soil
phase. This module also computes the threshold concentration for NAPL occurrence (i.e., the
total contaminant concentration above which NAPL is present in a given sample)
a special module for sensitivity analysis on input parameters (porosity, water and organic
carbon content, contaminant concentration, ...)
advanced physical processes: temperature effect on physical and chemical properties, influence
of contaminant mass on aqueous and gaseous phase density, non-local equilibrium for mass
transfer between phases...
